Native to China, tree peonies form beautiful thick shrubs that flower a lot. The big deciduous leaves have a dark green color with a blueish underside. The amazing flowers, which bloom in late spring to early summer, make excellent cut flowers. The colors are in all shades of pink, white, red or purple and have a half-bowl shape and a delicious scent.
Tree peonies are very slow-growers and may take some time before new plants fully establish and begin to flower. Once established, they are long-lived and need little maintenance.
